THREE Held for Poisoning Leopard, Removing Teeth and Claws

ERODE - Three persons have landed in police custody for poisoning a leopard and removing its claws and teeth in Erode district in Tamil Nadu. The carcass of the big cat, in a highly decomposed state, was spotted in an elephant trench in the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve here the other day. Veterinary doctors, who examined it, concluded that the animal died of poisoning. Further investigations led to the arrest of the three persons, police said.
