MIRPUR - India's World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev Mar. 28 refuted reports that he would be joining Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and campaign for their candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. "Let me clarify it that I am not joining Aam Aadmi Party. There has been reports that I will be officially joining AAP and but I can assure you that nothing of that sort is happening," Kapil, said here.
He said that he wanted to clear the air regarding rumors of his joining politics as he saw some of the websites have released stories on him and Bollywood actor Aamir Khan joining the Kejriwal-led party. Asked if he would join politics in near future, the legendary all-rounder said, "I have no political aspirations. That's it. As a responsible citizen of the country, it is my duty to support good people. Irrespective of any political party, I am a supporter of good people who want to do something for the society." (PTI)
