NEW DELHI - Delhi Police are all set to hold five of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium here beginning May 3, an official said Friday. A traffic advisory stated that the IPL matches will be played here May 3, May 5, May 7, May 10 and May 19. "The Delhi Police have made elaborate arrangements for traffic diversions and restrictions, vehicle parking,
movement of pedestrians and safety of those who attend the matches," said Anil Shukla, additional commissioner of police (traffic), Delhi. The advisory added that there is very limited parking space for labelled vehicles while there is none for the general vehicles. Spectators can park their vehicles at Mata Sundari Parking and Shanti Van Parking - two park and ride sites close to the stadium.
Shukla said that electronic items such as laptops, cameras, transistors, remote controlled car keys etc., will not be allowed inside the stadium. Neither will edibles, cigerette lighters, match boxes, knives and arms will be allowed to be carried. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) will run special connecting services from Pragati Maidan to New Delhi Metro stations.
