
TORRANCE, CA – The Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple and Religious Academy’s 10 day long Ganesha Utsav celebration culminated with the immersion ceremony on Anantha Chathurdashi. The festivities were led by the temple’s chief priest Pandit Narasimhacharya Cherukupally. Maha Ganapathi vishesha puja and arati were performed daily over the 10 days. In addition, the temple performed Ganapati homam,
Ganesha abhishekam and Durwankura puja which were all well attended by devotees from all over the Los Angeles area. A popular event was a special workshop where children learnt to make a clay Ganesha idol and then they performed Ganesha puja under the acharya’s guidance. Over 35 kids participated in this event.

For the fifth year in a row, the Temple took around 200 devotees in a yacht off the Long Beach pier on September 23. Devotees enjoyed this experience, participatin in bhajans and performing Ganesha aarthi before bidding farewell to the Lord until the following year.

COSTA MESA, CA - The Ganesh Navarata celebrations at Siva Kameswari temple here started with a Ganesha havan and kalasha sthapana. The Ga Kara Sahasranamarchana, 1,008 names of Ganesha was chanted and continued for the duration of the week-long celebrations. Vidya Tadanki and her team made 51 clay Ganesha statues for the temple and community’s benefit. All of the days included a 444 times Ganesha Tarpan in the mornings.
It was followed by vidyaarthi puja for students and the dhoorva puja leading to the Ganesh visarajan in the Pacific Ocean along with bhajans. Local team of volunteers made modaks and a special laddoo, considered to be the Lord’s favorite. The temple team along with Vishnu Caterers and volunteers cooked for all devotees. The celebrations welcomed close to a thousand individuals.
