NORWALK,CA - Gujarati Society of Southern California (GSSC) had an exciting evening filled with Diwali celebrations at the Sanatan Dharma Temple here on Nov 11. Three outstanding singers of Gujarat kept the guests entertained. They were the family of Shyamal & Gargi with their daughter Megha Bhatt. Shyamal and Gargi captured the audience of more than 200 guest with their melodious voices never heard before in Los Angeles. Their selection of Bollywood songs were from the years 1960 to 1990.
Many romantic songs were sung by the duo which took the audience back to their younger years and created an atmosphere of nostalgic. GSSC also celebrated Saradar Patel’s birth anniversary in the evening. Keshavlal Patel, formal trustee of Vishwa Hindu Parishad praised Sardar Patel for the unification of 562 Princely States into the Republic of India Ghanshyamsinh Zala conveyed a message from Vijaybhai Rupani,the Chief Minister of Gujarat for Sardar Patel Unity Day.
“Our goal is to provide the best entertainment to the community and make them united,” said Jawahar Shah, Secretary and Trustee of GSSC. “Our efforts are paying off as GSSC getting lots of support from many community leaders.”
“In our last two years of existence, more than 1200 families have joined GSSC and our membership is growing and I am encouraged by the community involvement,” said Pramod Mistry the driving force of the GSSC.
