The Western South Region Keertan Jattha (Junior) was placed 3rd in the International Hemkunt Keertan Darbaar. The group consisted of Jasroop Kaur (Harmonium) , Malika Kaur Nindra (Tanpura & Surmandal), Pria Kaur Chawla (Dilruba), Ria Kaur Chawla(Dilruba) and Hursh Singh (Tabla) Special Recognition – was given to Group II consisting of Harkiran Kaur (Harmonium), Jasnoor Kaur (Surmandal & Tanpura), Noor Kaur Nindra (Dilruba), Sahej Kaur Chawla (Dilruba) and Harinder Singh (Tabla).
The 3 Keertan Jathas from SoCal did extremely well and the children performed on different Sikh heritage instruments like Dilruba, Tanpura in addition to playing Sitar and Surmandal.
Orange County Zonal Convener and Western South Region Keertan Darbaar Coordinator, Dr. Ginny Kaur Chawla, who accompanied all the participants to New York congratulated and thanked all the participants, judges, parents and the Center Coordinators for their immense devotion in making this program successful.
