All Gurdwaras of Southern California celebrated the Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev with religious fervor and enthusiasm. Akhand Paths of Guru Granth Sahib, (continuous and uninterrupted recitation of Guru Granth Sahib), Gurbani Keertan and Guru Ka Langar, (free food for all) were the highlights of the holy event. At Gurdwara Sarab Sanjha Darbar of Khalsa Care Foundation, Shabad Keertan by Hazoori Raagi Jatha Bhai Varinder Singh, Aasa di Vaar by Raagi Jatha Bhai Lakhwinder Singh, Gurbani Vichaar by Bhai Mastan Singh and Bhai Panthpreet Singh were performed. Bhai Surinder Singh and Bhai Sarabjit Singh conducted and coordinated the entire program.

At a largely attended diwan at Guru Nanak Sikh Temple of USA, Buena Park, Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Jatinder Singh, Raagi Bhai Avtar Singh Wadali vaale, Bhai Pawan Deep Singh and Bhai Jaswant Singh Zira vaale performed Keertan.
Sindhu Center, Norwalk also celebrated Guru Nanak Dev Prakash Purab at Norwalk.
At Sri Guru Singh Sabha Walnut, Sant Anoop Singh of Bhai Kanhaiya Sewa Simran Kendar Phagwara, performed Keertan. Akhand Keertani Jatha of Los Angeles did Aasa Di Vaar Keertan early morning. Hazoori Raagi Bhai Raghbir Singh also did Gurbani keertan. At Sikh Center of Orange County, Santa Ana, Aasa Di Vaar Keertan was performed byHazoori Raagi Jatha Bhai Jaswant Singh Zira, IIGS Kirtani Jatha headed by Sardarni Gurpreet Kaur rendered melodious Keertan. A book entitled “Understanding Sikhism” written by Sawan Singh, retired Principal, was released on the occasion. Sawan Singh presented the first copy of the book to Cardiologist Dr. Harvinder Sahota. This is Sawan Singh’s 11th book. He will be turning 90 years next month. Sahota is associated with the University of Claremont on Sikh studies. Sikh Women Now Jatha performed Keertan. Judge Sohal recited a poem. Gurpurab was also celebrated at Guru Ram Das Ashram, Los Angeles. Kirtan Singh Khalsa Jatha performed keertan. Hazoori Raagi Jatha Bhai Gurdip Singh performed Keertan at Gurdwara Lankershim. Gurpurab was also held at Gurdwara Vermont, Alhambra, Valley Sikh Temple, Nanak Sikh Sadan, Northridge, Buena Park, Canoga Park, Covina, Sikh Gurdwara of Sadh Sangat, Norco, and Riverside.
