TORRANCE,CA - Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple here on July 28 conducted the inaugural Sri Venkata Narasimha Panchamukha Hanuman Vijaya Yatra Mahotsav. The day long event, was well-attended by devotees from near and far. Several families participated in Ksheera Kalasha abhishekam to Lord Hanuman,
followed by installation of the Kamya Siddhi Dhwaja Sthamba as devotees noted their innermost desires and tied it to the `Sthamba’ or wish fulfillment post and prayed for their fulfillment. Hanuman Vratham was also performed in the afternoon, followed by a lively ceremonial procession carrying the Lord Hanuman idol accompanied by bhajans and dancing.
The program included a rich lineup of Indian music and dance performances and an all-day mela, complete with stalls where attendees shopped for ethnic wear, jewelry and accessories. Children participated in art workshops, burned off their energy at the bounce house, and kids and adults alike cooled off with snow cones and juice. Delicious Indian food was served all day at the food fundraiser. Panchamukha Hanuman Temple was established in 2014 and continues to grow as hundreds visit to worship the impressive 12 foot tall five-faced Hanuman and other deities.
