for the Professorship. The contract was signed by the donors and the LMU Dean Robin Crabtree and other officials and was coordinated by the Director of Development of LMU Donna Gray. President of JCSC Dr. Jasvant Modi welcomed all. Dr. Nitin Shah gave a brief history of Jain academic education and then spoke about the Ingraham Chair Dr. Philip Clayton of Claremont School of Theology for his contribution to Jain education.
Dean of Bellaramine College of Liberal Arts, Robin Crabtree gave information about Loyola Marymount University. Crabtree spoke on the progress of LMU over the last several decades from its Catholic beginning to involvement of multiple religions over time and added that the university works and actively looks forward to offer courses to students on different religions.

JCSC also welcomed the presence of Dr. Ana Bajzelj who just recently joined the University of California at Riverside as the First Chaired Professor of Shrimad Rajchandra Chair in Jain Studies. The day ended with a brief presentation by Rachael Hammerlein of Cincinnati about her experiences with ISJS. She has spent over 10 years in India and has a Masters in Philosophy from Mumbai University. Her speech was followed by Avinder Chawla who gave a brief history of the Sikh faith and reason to work together with the Jains in education. The signing ceremony ended with Navkar Mantra.
