LA HABRA, CA - The Divine Art of Yoga Center held an evening of music and dance at their ashram here on Oct. 16 bringing together individuals of diverse backgrounds from the community and surrounding areas to sit and listen to peaceful bhajans, eat dinner, and then dance garba for a few hours. Performing bhajans...
After about two hours of bhajans, prasad was served to all those in attendance, after which the singers changed track to perform music for all to enjoy a night of garba. There were around 200 who took part in the garba. The Divine Art of Yoga Center is run by Mahatma Rammurti Baiji and Mahatma Gautam Baiji and supported by trustees, devotees, and members of the community.
In 2008 this location began by providing spiritually guided yoga and meditation practices to help individuals attain harmony for their mind, body, and soul. This location in addition held and continues to hold satsangs and bhajans.
Originally, these discourses began in Gujarati but to be more inclusive of the other Indian religions and individuals from various backgrounds the center thought it would be a good idea to have Hindi and English discourses which would be understood by more. The center hopes, in the future, to build a bigger ashram with the help of the community to be able to accommodate more people than the current location. This will facilitate larger yoga and meditation classes, as well as bigger satsangs and bhajan sessions. The Divine Art of Yoga Center aspires to incorporate all community members for their activities.
