in Riverside. The temple priests Pandit Shukava Dasa, Seshacharyulu Samudrala and Giriraj Bhandari performed Maha Mrityunjaya Havan. Temple president Sanjay Jalota and event coordinator Mahesh Gupta then introduced Didi Maa to the eagerly awaiting crowd.
Speaking to her followers, Didi Maa talked about India’s progressive lineage and how people have worked hard to create a beautiful land of culture, tradition and ambition. “One must learn to respect their ‘janmabhoomi’ (birthland) and ‘karambhoomi’ (work land) alike,” she added. Her reasoned out sermons and philosophy kept devotees enthralled with many even recording her discourses. After the sermon, an ‘aarti’ was performed and ‘mahaprasad’ was served to nearly 200 attendees in the main hall.
In the evening, Didi Maa was present at a gathering of about 150 devotees at La Palma community hall where she was welcomed by event organizer Keshav Patel. La Palma Mayor Michele Steggell was also present.
Didi Mass showed a documentary on her initiative `Vatsalya Gram’ in India, which provides orphans family structure, education and training to be global citizens. Talking about her ideologies, she mentioned, “I believe in the personification of the motherly love between baby Krishna and mother Yashoda, who though not his birth mother, loved the baby more than any biological mother could. This is the essence of my core beliefs and this is the vision that I share with many today. This is the vision that has led to the formation of Vatsalya Gram.” “For me, every newborn is a divine creation since every soul is born to fulfill a divine mission. Deprived of parents, particularly a mother, some children have to seek refuge in orphanages which never provide self respect and a sense of a mother’s protection which is normally available in a family, and so, the inception of `Vatsalya Gram’ is another step in the direction of my vision,” she added. Donations piled in taking care of many children in India’s Vatsalya Gram. Notably there are seven Vatsalya Grams in India while Param Shakti Peeth Foundation spreads to India, America, Europe and other countries.
Talking with IJ, Keshav Patel said, “In Vatsalya Gram, a child needs 300 dollars for yearly adoption; so this event has helped several kids receive the amount they require. We also have a tradition that Param Shakti Peeth of America chairman and trustee, Avdhesh Agarwal equally matches the total sum of donations while 50 percent of it is matched by another member Dr. Jasubhai Patel from Las Vegas”. Others who spoke at the event included Anil Parekh, Uka Solanki, Former Cypress Mayor Dr Prakash Narain , Vijay Telkikar and Ramjibhai. A delicious dinner was served to all attendees.
Didi Maa will be travelling to San Jose and Houston for the next leg of her tour.
