the Vishwa Shanti Sewa Chartiable Mission USA. Its aim is the spiritual and economic upliftment of all of humanity. A week-long Shrimadh Bhagwat katha was held from Sept. 9 to 15 at the Sanatan Dharma Temple here.
First, Maharaj ji began by explaining the importance of the Shrimadh Bhagwat to a spiritual seeker and explained the significance behind reading the scripture or even just hearing someone read it aloud. Through the week, Maharaj ji narrated in a captivating manner the different incarnations of Lord Krishna, the Lord’s ‘Lila’ and the triumph of good over evil as personified by the Lord. Maharaj ji also beautifully unfolded the story of Sudhama Milan, in which Krishna met with a school friend.
He concluded the week with a summarization of all the essentials: The main goal is to achieve liberation. There are three steps that one can pursue toward this objective which is to listen to satsangs (spiritual discourse) by a saintly person about the Shrimadh Bhagwat or any of the other scriptures; chant the Lord’s name either alone or with others; and serve God with complete devotion.
