Jitendra Shukla on tabla and Kant Bhai on majeera and performed some soulful bhajans. Rita Mediratta, emcee for the evening introduced all the artists and the temple priest recognized them all by garlanding them with very beautiful and colorful Mataji Chunnis. One of the reasons why this program was initiated was to raise funds for the prospect new temple. The temple’s ex- president, Vasant Rathi gave a presentation of the new temple describing the plans and summarizing the scope of work. The plans were submitted to the City of Placentia on June 30 for approval. The total site area of the new temple is approximately 1.15 acres for around $2.5million. The temple will be constructed in three phases. The kitchen, dining area, priest apartments, offices and other facilities will be constructed in phase 1.Site improvements such as parking, landscaping etc. will be part of Phase II. The temple itself will be constructed in Phase III and should be completed in about three years. Rathi requested all the devotees to pledge donations for the new temple. Board members Harshad Shah, Madhu Garg, Manish Shah, Milan Reshamwala, and Tilak Raj Mehara, organized the event. All devotees were served Maha Prasad prepared at the temple.
