everyone particularly the young crowd enjoyed dancing from 8pm into the early morning hours. Excellent stuti, aarti and special stage performances by Paulomi Pandit of Rangashree Danace group and BollyX Shahi Patel was the hit during the break.
India snacks like samosa, bhel and hot tea was enjoyed by many in attendance.
Dr Anju and Dr Arun Patel of Fullerton were among the sponsors of the event. Natoo Patel told IJ, “ We started back in 1974 with around five families in a garage. Years later we moved to a small church hall in Diamond Bar. Chimanbhai Kotecha and I moved on to organize garba events at Diamond Bar High School, Mount Sac College and Cal Poly Gym until 1984. We used to get few hundred participants back in those days. We always used good and dedicated local singers. Since 1984 we have been improvising and have larger and larger participants at Anaheim Convention Arena an UCI Bren Center.”
