DIAMOND BAR,CA-Los Angeles county Sheriff, Jim McDonell who is seeking re-election attended a fundraiser held by the Sikh community at Diamond Palace restaurant,here. McDonell has been chief for 4 years. Under him crime rate in Los Angeles has significantly dropped. McDonell, in his speech, invited the community,
especially the youth to join the Los Angeles Sheriff Department. He was very lavish in his praise of the “peaceful and God fearing Sikh community”. He held a Q & A session where he was queried on issues related to the safety and security of the community.
The event was emceed by Bir Ishwar Singh Grewall whose late father Capt. Baboo Singh was the first Superintendent of Police of erstwhile Pepsu State (modern Punjab). The evening ended with individual pictures taken with the Chief and everyone was reminded to spread the word to friends, family and neighbors to vote on November 6.
