serving as CEO of the company until 2010, when he became Executive Chairman. Hei took the reigns at QLogic shortly after the company was spun out of now-competitor Emulex back in 1994.

Desai graduated from the M.S. University with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He was named American Electronics Association Executive of the Year in 1999 and was named a Director of the Year in 2002 by the Forum for Corporate Directors.
