LOS ANGELES, CA - ‘Tea India’ commercials, ‘Two Broke Girls,’ and ‘Mad Men’ are only a few of the many names that are affiliated with Central Station Media, Cast in Hollywood, and Hollywood Green Screen Studio. Upinder Raisauda, owner of the three companies located in Studio City, is a director, producer,
and cinematographer who loves his career and every aspect of it. With over 700 commercials for television and the internet as well as an array of music videos, short films, a feature film, Raisauda has no plans of stopping any time soon. He aspires to keep going for as long as his heart desires. “I love what I do whether it is directing, producing, or cinematography. What I like the most is the diversity of what I do. No two projects are the same ever. It involves a different set of challenges,” said Raisauda.
Growing up in the Fiji islands, his mother, and living near a movie theatre all created and facilitated the spark that Raisauda has always had for cinema. “I have been fascinated by film from a very young age. My mother was an avid fan of films and took me to see films even as a baby, said Raisauda. Having a huge interest in the movie industry, Raisauda knew that this was the career for him since he had been watching movies for as long as he could remember.
“I always felt that the big screen was my calling,” said Raisauda. Beginning in the industry of his dreams then after going astray and trying his hand at other industries, Raisauda came back to his ‘first love’ because he knew that it was the career he was meant to be in. “I started in my 20s, I moved on to other things in between, and in my late 30s came back to cinema and have been here ever since,” said Raisauda. Accomplishing over 20 years in the industry of your dreams is a motivating inspiration to consider for all of those struggling to get their foot in the door of their dream ventures.
Raisauda previously lived in Canada before moving to Los Angeles. He used to shoot projects in Toronto. However, after flying back and forth and realizing the difference in resources between the industries he decided to move to Hollywood. Raisauda continues to travel to Toronto, Vancouver, the United Kingdom, and India to maintain relationships with clients as well as to shoot projects. When it comes to choosing between one of the three directing, producing, and cinematography, Raisauda mentions that all three are different and incomparable. It all varies. The most rewarding aspect of all that Raisauda and his companies do is the end product. Finishing what was once started is the best part of it all. “From creating a concept, putting together the different elements that go into the making of that concept, and finally putting it together and seeing it on the big screen is all a great sense of accomplishment,” said Raisauda. Creating a product which establishes an emotion is a successful product. “It gives me great pleasure to create beautiful things that move people; that make people think,” said Raisauda. “My future plans are to expand more into feature films. Putting compelling dramatic content on the big screen and to create better commercials that tell a compelling tale. It is all about doing something filled with love and passion; not about the complexity of the matter,” Raisauda concluded.
