NEW YORK, NY - The Bangladeshi American comedian, actor and writer Hasan Minhaj is joining “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” as a correspondent in Nov. In Dec, the show will also add the popular comedian Trevor Noah, who is a well-known personality in South Africa where he hosted several TV shows, before carving a new career in the US. Minhaj and Noah will join the show’s roster that includes Aasif Mandvi,
Samantha Bee, Jordan Klepper, Jason Jones, Jessica Williams, Lewis Black, John Hodgman, Al Madrigal, Kristen Schaal and Larry Wilmore, who will be leaving the show in January to take the post-”Daily Show” slot vacated by “The Colbert Report.”
Minhaj has made appearances on Netflix’s “Arrested Development” revival, HBO’s “Getting On” and Comedy Central’s “@midnight.” He was also recently featured as a New Face at the 2014 Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, reported Variety. Minhaj was also recently selected by the Sundance Institute to develop his solo show and feature film, Paint the Town, with the New Frontier Story Lab, reported The Hollywood Reporter. He hosted the Stand Up Planet documentary special for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and has a digital series, The Truth With Hasan Minhaj. Minhaj previously performed on NBC’s Last Call With Carson Daly, too. Minhaj is repped by Principato Young and Hansen Jacobson.
