NORWALK, CA - Members of the community gathered at the Sanatan Dharma Temple here on April 30 to celebrate ‘Heartfulness Day’ and to experience what it felt like to be in tune with their hearts. There were no long lectures, no mantras, just a simple introduction with relaxation and a practical session on how to meditate,
using the heart with the use of yogic transmission, a unique component of Heartfulness Meditation. Transmission allows you to tune into your heart and become receptive to feeling guidance from within, just like you have a radio transmission that works on a specific frequency. While adults were involved in a practical session of Heartfulness Meditation, children were guided through relaxation and invited to participate in a free “ArtWithHeart” Competition and Essay Contest based on themes that relate to creating change from the heart. Heartfulness offers a jet set 5-minute relaxation, that is easy to use with the Heartfulness app(free download), which can be used to help calm your exam nerves, help beat anxiety or simply relax your energetic child (5yrs and above), or can be tried out in LA traffic. Participants can join in free group workshops held weekly at the Sanatan Dharma. Temple on Sundays from 6-7pm and other locations as well. The practice is completely free and is open to all, and can be done alongside other yoga, religious or cultural practices. For more info: (562) 231-6361.
