REDONDO BEACH,CA-The Organizing Committee of Punjabi Community Center, (PCC) celebrated Vaisakhi for the 10th year on Apr 4 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. With around 250 participants of all ages, the spirit of Vaisakhi was evident. The audience in the packed auditorium was entertained by a wide variety of dance and music including Bhangra, Bollywood, Bharatnatyam,
and music by an acappella group,and singing by talented children and adults. Several teams from PCC along with teams from Valley Sikh Temple, Walnut Gurdwara, Mudra Academy of Dance,UCLA Nashaa, UCLA Naya Zamaana, UCSD Da Real Punjabiz and a special performance by Raginder “Violinder” Momi entertained the crowd nonstop for four hours. Chief Guest, Perry Lamba and community member Har Simran Kaur Khalsa were present at the event and were recognized as key contributors to the community. The participants, coaches and volunteers who worked hard to make this event possible did an excellent job, as always, in keeping the traditions of Vaisakhi alive. A sumptuous dinner was provided by Tandoor restaurant. PCC is dedicated to enriching Punjabi life and promoting Punjabi culture through education, social service, community involvement, and sponsorship of the performing arts. It is a non-profit organization run by volunteers and classes are held at the Ektaa Center in Irvine.
