The day was jam packed with activities such as carnivals, shopping booths, food stalls, fashion shows, and musical concerts. The festival began just before noon as local vendors and merchants as well as corporate like Dish Network displayed booths along the famed street from 183rd to 188th. Onlookers visited the nearby shops and restaurants while enjoying the various forms of entertainment the festival had to offer. A carnival with over seven bouncers and slides was erected for the amusement of children along with various other games. Kids were also entertained with a rock climbing wall and train ride. DJ Desi Heartbeat kept the onlookers entertained through the day with a mixture of Indian and American music.
The main event commenced around 8pm as guests gathered at the corner of 187th Street and Pioneer Boulevard to witness an electrifying fashion show and musical concert. Models walked the stage showcasing the latest bridal wear and evening gowns from the Frontier Heritage Collection. As the leading premium ethnic women’s designer wear, the company has storefronts in USA, Canada, and Delhi. Founder Nita Asija addressed the crowd and explained why Frontier Heritage has become synonymous with fashion and style.
The night culminated with an empowering musical concert headlined by Brijesh and Shobhana. Singer Rex D’Souza, who electrified the audience last year, was forced to cancel due to a family emergency.
