DIAMOND BAR,CA- The Sunshine Seniors Association had its annual Diwali Celebration on Nov 21, at the Diamond Bar Center’s Ball Room here filled with music,dance and a lot of fun. Diamond Bar Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Lyons attended the event. The singing duo Aminder Singh and Mita Shah began the musical evening with the R.D. Burman classic ‘Wadiyan Mera Daman’ along with a ‘Diwali Mubarak’ greeting.

The pair further entertained the crowd with yesteryears hits such as “Baharon phool Barsao” and “Dum Maro Dum” to contemporary songs like “Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki” and “Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein.” The audience danced to an array of Shammi Kapoor tracks such as “Baar Baar dekho” and Bollywood item numbers such as “Kajra Re.” A variety of song requests were also taken from the audience throughout the evening. The raffle was conducted by President Sushma Kashyap and the prizes comprised of gift certificates and Ralph Lauren mugs.
A photo area was set up for guests to take pictures. The sumptuous dinner catered by BAPS included Indian delicacies and Diwali specialties.
A special candlelit Diwali prayer was held by the board members. The Sunshine Seniors committee prayed for the well being of all and wished everyone a Happy Diwali.
