ARTESIA, CA - Shivaji Maharaj America Parivaar paid tribute to the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Members of the organization and local leaders met on April 3, Cake Korner Indian Café & Bakery here to offer tribute to the legendary King on his 338th punyatithi death anniversary.
ARTESIA, CA - Shivaji Maharaj America Parivaar paid tribute to the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Members of the organization and local leaders met on April 3, Cake Korner Indian Café & Bakery here to offer tribute to the legendary King on his 338th punyatithi death anniversary.
The program started with a welcome address by Vijay Patil who said, “We’d like to create the kind of leaders in US who will challenge the status quo, who have the courage to fight injustice around them, who will support the cause of unity and prosperity and who will believe in helping people who are less fortunate to bring equality.” The organizers and the community leaders then offered flowers and paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “The Parivar focuses on creating role models, nurturing fearless leadership and promoting the spirit of unity” said Vasundhara Pawar. She then requested community leaders to say a few words on the occasion. Leaders from several Indian American organizations offered homage.. Aparna Hande highlighted her connections with the descendants of Maratha empire and expressed pride in being part of the Shivaji the Maharaj America Parivaar.
