LOS ANGELES,CA - California’s Siva Bharadvaj became the global face of SpaceX as he co-hosted on Nov 15 the international webcast of the company’s successful launch and re-entry of Falcon-9 reusable-rocket. The mission was to launch Es’hail-2, a communication satellite for Qatar, into space and the Falcon-9 did it and safely returned to earth, all under 30 minutes. of the rocket and its components, its fuel content, and interesting launch and recovery details. The webcast which had gathered a viewership of nearly 450,000 was telecast from SpaceX’s Hawthorne, California center where Bharadvaj works as an integration and test engineer. He was selected in early 2018 to be part of the webcast team and this was his first live webcast for SpaceX.
Born and educated in SoCal, Bharadvaj has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, and Masters from Cornell University. Prior to joining SpaceX, he worked in beta-testing airplanes for Boeing in St Louis. There he had the honor of being selected as one of 14 Young Engineers of Tomorrow, and was featured in “Dreams Aloft” video which played for thousands of visitors at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC and other Aerospace Museums around the world.
Bharadvaj is the son of Dr. Bala Bharadvaj who is the Managing Director of Boeing, India, while his mother is the renowned dancer-choreographer Ramaa Bharadvaj.
