RIVERSIDE, CA - The members of the Inland Empire Senior Center met at Lakshmi Narayn Mandir here on Dec 18 to celebrate the birthday of those born in the month of December. President Dr. Mahendra Verma kick started the program with Gaytri Mantra on harmonium. About 70 members participated in the celebration dressed in their best attire. and sang songs in Urdu, Hindi and English along with was Urdu Shaiyri.
The seniors also celebrated the New Year with everyone wishing each other. Prayers were offered for a prosperous and healthy New Year along with a presentation of Vedic Mantras. The Director of the senior Center Dr. Mahendra Verma thanked all the members for their participation and offered special thanks to Aruna Vij and Ashok Taneja for their efforts in making the celebration a big success, At the end the members gathered in the mandir hall for aarti. The priest blessed all and gave them parshad. Following this there was dancing and a pot luck with many kinds of food and sweets.
