James Beard Award winner Faye Levy, Chef Saumil Patel from Wok N Tandoor and Mona Gandhi the ‘2015 Kitchen Queen. Kitchen Queens - a Facebook group organized by Smita Vasant and Dhanu Keray - was created to inspire and be inspired by everyday cooks and recipes. The group launched in 2015 with a handful of members and has now grown to almost 800.
The 2016 first prize winner and title of Kitchen Queen was won by Preeti Patel with her ‘Scoop of Fusion’ presentation, in second place was Usha Patel with her ‘Schezwan Idli Basket,’ while ‘Broccoli Feta Balls’ got Shami Shah the third place.
The competition drew support from many local merchants such as Pioneer Cash and Carry, Rasraj, Wok N Tandoor, Frontier Heritage, Dreams Collections, Fashion by Rohini, Episkinz Spa, Nisha by Nishat Linens and several others.
