In early 1990 'S a similar request was made by Dr Sahota to then Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Bacca and a turbaned Sikh was made deputy.The Gurdwara Secretary Avinder Singh Chawla introduced the Sheriff's husband Larry Hutchens and her Assistant Don Barnes .The invited guests were all honored with Saropas.
