BUENA PARK, CA – The Global Convener of Overseas Friends of BJP Vijay Jolly met with Southland supporters and the local chapter’s office bearers at Amaya restaurant on Aug.19 in view of PM Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to the U.S. He was accompanied by OFBJP US President Chandra Kant Patel from New York.
BUENA PARK, CA – The Global Convener of Overseas Friends of BJP Vijay Jolly met with Southland supporters and the local chapter’s office bearers at Amaya restaurant on Aug.19 in view of PM Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to the U.S. He was accompanied by OFBJP US President Chandra Kant Patel from New York.
Speaking to the gathering of over 300 people, Jolly said he was here to thank NRIs for the support and solidarity they had extended during the recent parliamentary elections which BJP won by a huge margin. He said OFBJP now has 41 active branches around the globe and his dream was to have branches in 160 countries.
Jolly urged the audience to attend Modi’s address at Madison Square, New York on Sept 28 and asked them to consider it their duty to bring at least five individuals with them. He also highlighted the achievements of the Modi government and said it was committed to provide corruption free and clean governance.
Chandra Kant Patel on the occasion said as BJP was in power in India, it had increased their responsibilities as well. He said the organization was planning on opening a service center for the Indian Diaspora in New York and couple of service oriented projects including opening of a Pt. Deen Dayal research center, organizing business seminars and training camps for the community.
Suneil Anand, son of the actor late Dev Anand, said the two greatest democracies of the world, India and the US should develop deeper understanding for betterment of the whole world. Earlier, Vijay Jolly and Chandrakant Patel did the lamp lighting ceremony and Pranav Desai and Priyadarshini Roy sang ‘Vande Mataram’.
The services of OFBJP-LA convener PK Nayak and his team as well as Prithvi Raj, Kanthi Bhai and Pratap More were recognized. Also present were Artesia Mayor Tony Lima, Artesia Councilman Ali S. Taj, former Assemblyman Tony Mendoza.
