IRVINE, CA-Diwali Milan was celebrated with gusto by the LA chapter of the Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America (MMNA) on November 5 at the Turtle Rock Community Park here. It was attended by over 200 guests.The event saw the kids of the community perform to various Bollywood movie songs.
IRVINE, CA-Diwali Milan was celebrated with gusto by the LA chapter of the Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America (MMNA) on November 5 at the Turtle Rock Community Park here. It was attended by over 200 guests.The event saw the kids of the community perform to various Bollywood movie songs.
There was participation from the adults too, who performed two skits. These comedy skits received huge appreciation from the audience. Like every year, a warm welcome was extended to the new Maheshwari families that joined the larger family. A food donation drive was also held during the event. Food was collected from the members and donated to the needy, lighting a lamp of hope in their lives. Emcee for the event was Ramesh Lohia accompanied by Shikha Rathi, who was the cultural performance director. MMNA promotes the values, rich culture, and heritage of Rajasthan in India. It now has on record over 1,000 families. The new committee for the term 2017-2019 was also announced at the event. The new committee consists of - Kailash Attal (President); Avani Biyani, Deepali Dargar, Rahul Bhaiyya, Kapil Lahoti, Anand Loya.
