Arena for his die-hard fans with sensational Sunny Leone, the actress who successfully made the transition from adult star to commercial Bollywood heroine.
With flamboyant clothes, the big gold ‘Khanda’ pendant and loads of flashy attitude – Mika, started the concert by extending Janamasthami greetings to the audience. He set the tone by singing ‘Laal Meri Pat’ a popular Sufi composition.
He performed non stop for more than three hours and enthralled the audience with his music. The endless list of songs included, ‘Khaali Peeli Khaali Peeli Rokne Ka Nai’, ‘Jughi Naughty Nakhre Waali’, ‘Jaan-e-Jaan’, ‘Jumme Ki Raat’, ‘Dhinka Chika’ ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’, ‘Ganpat Ja Daaru la’, ‘Dil Mein Baji Guitar’ ‘Duniya Mere Piche’, bouquet of old classical hits that included ‘Hawa Hawaii,’ ‘Aey Meri Johra Jabin’ and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, ‘Baara Maheena Mein’, ‘Tainu Main Love Kardan’, ‘Main Dardi Rab Rab Kardi’, ‘Kadi Saadi Gali’, ‘Singh is King’ and many more.
Before singing his popular song, ‘Modhian Te Rakh Daangan’, Mika promised that no one in the hall would be able to sit on their seats and everyone will be on their toes and shaking a leg and it happened for real. People were seen dancing in small and big groups all over in the auditorium. He also sang his first song ‘Sawan Main Lag Gaye Aag’ that made him popular 16 years ago.
Sunny Leone set the stage on fire when she shook a leg for her popular item number from her film Ragini MMS 2, ‘Baby Doll Main Sone Di’. The sultry actress danced to a couple of other numbers too.
While talking to IJ, she said her life took a 360 degree turn when she entered ‘Big Boss’ a Indian reality TV show three years ago. She said now India was her home and Los Angeles- where she was raised - was her vacation home. When asked how she handled the loads of attention, Leone said even earlier she used to get a lot of attention, but the Indian fans love for their Bollywood stars was insane.
Akasa Singh and Gita Jhala were the other vocalists of the evening and they sang a couple of Bollywood numbers including ‘Ye Samaa, Samaa Hai Ye Pyar Ka’, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ and ‘Jugni’. Raman Kapoor also presented a solo song ‘Changa Nahio Kita Biba.” The talented band was accompanied by five dancers of the Sanjay Shetty group from Mumbai. Amruta Patki, model and former beauty queen emceed the event.
Organizers Rashmi Shah of Shah Foundation, Rakesh Patel of H.R.Entertainment and Mike Sethi thanked the artistes.
