provide a platform for budding artistes. The under 14 category was won by Anjal Jain; the 14-21 category by Anirban Manna with Shruti Chakraborty was runner up. In the duet category, Shubra Tiwari and Vinay Goyal walked away with the top honors with the runners up being Sapna and Shashi Sood. The best solo honors went to Ritesh Matthew who was also the recipient of the Sardar Surat Singh/Sardarni Pritam Kaur Memorial Trophy presented by Sunny Singh. He sang the songs, “Akhiyan sang akhiyan,” and “ Manja.” The best artiste who scored highest points in a single song was declared to be Dr. Anantjit Singh, who was presented with the Panna Rani Memorial Trophy by Mala and Supriya Chakraborty. He sang the Mohammed Rafi classic,”Suhani Raat dhal chuki.”
The show was emceed by Dr. Parvin Syal, who introduced the panel of judges comprising of well known southland artistes, Moushami Shah, Ajay Kumar and Deepak Chandla.
