Bringing the community together as well as inspiring the youth to attend community events and take the organization to the next level are some of the aspirations of the Los Angeles Indo-American Lions Club. Additionally, the association hoped to raise funds  during the event to donate  part of the proceeds to the Orangewood Children’s Home in the City of Orange.
The main program commenced  with  Misbah Noor singing  the  American national anthem. Following this,  a group of women led the audience in singing, Jana Gana Mana, the Indian national anthem.
Addressing the gathering, Surinder Bhogal, Chairman, said, “When you touch dirt it turns into gold,”  referring to Rajbir Singh Husson, current president of organization. Husson then came on stage to say a few words. First and foremost, he thanked all  the sponsors and the guests in attendance.“Without you there is no party,” said Husson .
Continuing the program, Husson invited Chief Guest Mayor of Artesia Ali Sajjad Taj to the stage. Expressing his pleasure at being invited to the event, Taj requested all  board members to come on stage. He presented Husson with a Certificate of Recognition.
“Rajbir is going to take the organization to the next level,” said Taj.
Lucky winners  of the raffle draw  were  announced. Then it was time for more music and dance as Dhoom Machaa Le kicked off another round of  music to keep the audience entertained. The evening came to a close with dinner being served and the dance floor once again opening up for those who wanted to dance the night away.
