A colorful group of dancers present a number BREA, CA – Aarti Manek of the Shankara Dance Academy held a dance recital on Nov.23 at the Curtis theatre, here. Dancers interwove Jazz with Kathak movements depicting a cultural exchange with live music and dazzling costumes.
While young girls ranging in age from 6 years and up performed gracefully and added interest to the program was the presence of the well known Kathak performer and teacher Abhay Shankar Mishra who with his items on stage, took the audience into the heart of Indian mythology, explained the rhythms, exhibiting the classicism of the dance genre and creating an exquisite dance mosaic.
