brain child of Jigar Shah and Jay Parikh. He stated that Next Level Group organizes various seminars and workshops to help people reach the first level of human happiness.
Parikh introduced the speaker and guest of honor Jaswinder Singh (JUST WIN SINGH), who is a multi faceted personality. He added that. Singh was a product of Doon School from India and is a lethal combination of being a mechanical engineer and a marketing management guru. Singh started off his career in the merchant navy and is now a director of marketing with a thermal engineering company. Most importantly, he is the founder of Institute of Happiness in Vadodara, India. Through this he has influenced the lives of many individuals and families via free counseling, workshops and seminars. Besides this, Singh supports 117 NGOs from his earnings. He is also a professional trainer with big corporate houses in India. He has also authored four best sellers.
Singh was formally welcomed by Nita and Jay Parikh with a bouquet.
Starting off the seminar, .Singh said the session was not about ``raising you up but it is about lowering you down one foot, from your brains to your hearts.’’ He said one’s whole life would change if one started living from the heart. He made it clear that he would not use any machine to support his session, which meant no powerpoint, no CD presentation as he believed nothing could make the point as powerful as the human touch. He used the medium of jokes and stories to communicate his points as he believed that stories have a long recall value. He said,`` if you all can remember , understand and put his message of happiness into life for 21 days, it will be a default setting of happiness in everyone’s life.’’
Going on, Singh said all he expected the attendees to do was to sit back and listen to him. He added that he was not going to tell them to be better human beings cause they all were already fabulous human beings inside.. To make his point clear, Singh shared a story. In 1957, a huge statue of Buddha was being moved from one temple to another in Thailand. When the 22 feet statue was being moved it got cracked. Those moving it tried to see what was in the crack and after scratching the surface they realized that there was gold in it. On scratching further, they realized that the whole statue was made of gold! Since the Burmese army had attacked Thailand and were looting temples, the monks had put a layer of clay on the gold statues so as to keep them from being looted.
Singh explained, “we all are like these golden Buddha statues, beautiful from inside but over the years the clay and dust of negativity has covered us which makes us feel we are nothing but useless puppets. And today we are going to take out the beautiful Buddhas which has been engulfed in the layer of clay”.
He also shared another incident which took place in 1998, where he counseled and helped one of his friends who was on the verge of committing suicide, who then motivated him to start the Institute of Happiness. The friend is now happily settled.
Singh shared three major activities of his Institute. He gives one to one sessions to people who are unhappy and depressed and anyone can contact him on his website www.institueofhappiness.com. Secondly, he has written books on happiness which are in e- format available on Amazon; and he hosts seminars free of cost, to reach out to people who want to be happy.
His session stressed on the “ARC theory” to attain happiness. While explaining the theory he said one can be happy only if one is Aware why he is unhappy. He outlined four major misconceptions which cause unhappiness, which were longing for money, intelligence, looks and fame. He believes Reframing the direction/ understanding where real happiness lies is important to be happy, which he said is the ability to accept whatever is happening in the present. Lastly, Commitment to Action and choosing to be happy is the core of attaining a happy and peaceful life.
Singh left the audience spell bound with his charismatic and humorous way of sharing how to be happy, no matter what.
