twin sisters Rama & Rucha Kelkar followed by the Indian National Anthem. Chairman Ravi Grewal and President Vineet Puri welcomed all in their opening speeches. Various dignitaries graced the occasion and enjoyed the cultural program. Congressman Brad Sherman; John Lee, Chief of Staff from Councilman Mitch Englander’s office; and Lancaster City Councilman Raj Malhi, were recognized by the VP Public Relations Sunil Agrawal, VP Finance Harbans Bawa, and Board of Director Raman Chadha. All the invited dignitaries addressed the audience.. Matthew Vallecilla, field representative from Congressman Sherman’s office presented a US Flag which had flown over the Capitol Hill, Washington DC and a certificate to Puri. In his address Sherman said events like these showcase the culture and values of India and strengthens Indo-US relations.
The cultural program started with karaoke songs by Chilli Beatz artists Rama, Ruchi, Chandramohan, and Swati. People danced and enjoyed the melodious songs.The highlight of the evening were the various dance numbers performed by the artists from “Bollywood Beyond” and others from the L.A. region. All the performances were special and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
VP Culture Nalini Natarajan, along with Kavita Puri, Manjeet Wahi, Nisha Chetal, and Kiran Kamboj emceed the program. The event ended with attendees dancing to Bollywood numbers spun by DJ Sunil Puri.
