GARDEN GROVE, CA - With the wedding season coming up, the aptly timed Bollywood Bridal show was a rocking success with hundreds of people attending and enjoying the fun filled colorful afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim resort on January 12. The event kicked off around noon with numerous stalls fully decorated and ready for the show. The onlookers were all excited to see their favorite store or product in the mix. Whether one was looking for a wedding dress/ gown or tuxedo, designer/ fashion jewelry or beauty and makeup artists and mehndi- it was all available under one roof. & reception locations, and finest Indian & American caterers and many other leading wedding services providers were right there at the Bollywood Bridal Show of 2014.
Besides all the window shopping at the tempting stalls of a variety of vendors, many flocked to some of the newer concepts and idea stalls like L.A. Rickshaw, Sangam Fresh Paan and fruit buffets while others stuck to the tried and tested vendors like Karishma Beauty, Henna Dil Se, Samson Productions, Dream Collections to name a few.
The event was organized by Bimal Sandhu and Baljit Sandhu of Dhamaka Entertainment who put together a fabulous and well organized event. Speaking to India Journal Sandhu said, “Our motivation for having this big bridal show was to get top wedding vendors under one roof to showcase their products and create an atmosphere where future brides can come, socialize and plan their dream wedding with professionals at hand. The brides- to- be get a chance to see what the latest trends in the wedding industry are, and our show helps them pick their favorite wedding professionals who can make their dream weddings happen.”
Given the grandeur and the vibrant colors of the show, it felt nothing short of a grand wedding itself with the henna stall on one side and the beautifully laid out tables, linen designs and mandaps on the other. Music, dance and masti were the key mood setters. Food stalls from restaurants like Mantra and Natraj were popular with the attendees as they sampled the mouthwatering delicacies. It was a visual treat for brides- to- be and their families as the show gave them an opportunity to browse through the innumerable options to make their wedding a night to remember. The event had something for everyone, providing an opportunity to enjoy the live dance and music performances while taking a breather from the shopping frenzy.
There was the much awaited belly dance performance which was followed by artists performing to popular Bollywood numbers. Every so often, one also caught a glimpse of beautifully dressed brides and grooms gearing for the fashion show put together by Sakshi Dosaj of Dreams Collections. Young men and women in traditional wedding gear walked the ramp as singer Charanjeet performed live on stage. Over 55 vendors took part in the event and more than 2000 guests attended the show. Sukh Chugh was the emcee for the day.
