for their support they had extended to the BJP. She said without the contributions of the NRI’s, the task would of winning 2014 Lok Sabha elections would not have been possible. She further added the work of Indians living overseas had not ended with the winning of elections, rather it had just started. She urged everyone to contribute either with their intellect or monetary investment, to strengthen India.
She spoke of the changes the new government had already brought, and said the priority of the new government was education and cleaning up of the system. PM Modi, she said, had made clear to all the Chief Ministers to have the mission of growth and development in mind and to track progress each month.
Messages of External Affair Minister Suahma Swaraj, Vetern BJP leader L. K. Advani, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan were also played on the occasion.
Arvind Mahajan, MLA from Gujarat, said Modi was the other name of development. He said earlier Gujarat had had few universities, but under Modi’s leadership, the number was now 47. He made special reference of Ganpat University that has more than 25,000 students. Manohar Shinde of Dharma Civilization Foundation said, Indian and Hindu culture was misrepresented among academicians of the west. He added DCF was working hard to make the Indian voice heard in academic circles and for this purpose, they were working to establish chairs in U.S. universities. Harish Dhruv, main organizer and emcee for the event said India was on the path of growth and development with the new BJP government. He asked everyone to participate in Indian government work and to help it implement policies. A video, ‘30 days of action’ released on the occasion of completion of one month of Modi government was also shown on the occasion. The support and services of Harish Dhruv was also recognized by Sarin with the presentation of an idol of Lord Ganesha. Earlier, Gopal Chaturvedi welcomed the gathering and Ganpat Patel of Ganpat University presented a plaque to honor Sarin. Community activists Ashok Patnaik, Harshad Modi and Rani Peer also presented the problems faced by the local community while dealing with consulate office to obtain visas and passports. They were given assurance by Sarin that she will present their issues to the concerned persons and departments.
