city council members and members of the Artesia Chamber of Commerce were in attendance. Guest of Honor and leader of the delegation of royal families, Nawab Kazim Ali of Rampur was in attendance as well.
With the desire to keep the history and heritage of India alive, Anshu Khanna founded the concept of such a collection. Khanna asked Rohini Bedi, owner of Fashion by Rohini, if she would be interested in hosting such an event and  Bedi agreed  as she said, “We wanted to promote India’s culture and heritage.”.
“This event is an endeavor to keep our heritage and culture alive and to continue to nurture and cherish it,” said Akshat Kapoor, event curator. Royal families from India came together and presented various items to bring traditional looks back with a contemporary flair and to share their culture with others. In addition to the royal families Mayyur R. Girotra, infamously popular Bollywood designer, has assisted to bring a vintage feel to modern looks.
Princess Nandini Singh of Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh brought jewelry, cufflinks, art, and menswear to be displayed  .Inspired by the artisans, the Princess  described her items as“ artistic and for those with a discerning eye.”
Organic cotton wear was brought to the collection by Rani Kamini Singh of Seohara. Traditional and contemporary precious and semi-precious jewelry was contributed by Baisa Pushpita Singh, from  Kharwa, Rajasthan.
Rani Jaykirti Singh of Baria showcased her  collection of traditional handcrafted Jaipur crafts as well as chiffon saris and suits.  The Rani  mentioned that her addition to the collection was inspired by her  family. She spoke about how this particular style  is made from chiffon, the kind of saris her grandmother used to wear. This collection is … “A unique heritage exposition that presents the regal past of India in a contemporary idiom. Royal Fables Trunk Collection brings princes and princesses of various states of India together to present their design in the enthusiasts of high living,” said Smita Vasant, Public Relations and Marketing coordinator.
During this event, Bedi was presented with two certificates of recognition.
A number of interested shoppers dropped by to try on and buy clothes and other items which  were available for sale, starting at around $100. The organizers  who worked hard to put the event together were Ajita Chopra,  event coordinator, Smita Vasant, Sheer Romance, who lent the furniture; caterers Saffron Spot; Tea India , and dessert specialists Cake Korner .
