by a Q &A session. Atul Kandhari starting off the event with an introduction of Bharatiya Vichar Manch and their lecture series. Following this Amit Desai introduced Sunil Kumar who introduced the audience to Dr. J. K. Bajaj - the speaker for the afternoon.
After thanking the gathering Bajaj began his lecture on how the religious demographics are changing in India. After a brief introduction, he said “The defeat of Prithvi Raj Chauhan brought Islam to India.”
That was the first time India had been culturally conquered prior to that India had just been conquered. The overall point, Bajaj attempted to make was that the Indian religions are reducing in numbers of adherents while other religions such as Islam and Christianity are gaining. Bajaj spoke for close to two hours about how the religions have been undergoing a change for a while now. Then he went into very detailed specifics in regards to the different areas of India and how the religious population numbers have been changing and are continuing to change. During his PowerPoint presentation, Bajaj made an interesting point, saying “By 2060, the Indian religions in India will reduce to 57% of the population.”
Having presented the audience with the issues at hand and coming to the end of his presentation Bajaj took the time to answer a few questions from the audience. During the lively Q & A , people in attendance wanted solutions to the problem which unfortunately Bajaj did not have. Some audience members then went off track ranting about other issues to those in attendance.
All in all , it was an eye opening lecture.
