convict Mr. K as his caregiver. Played by Hamid Daudani and Anush Moorthy, it was tale on how trust and respect can be found where we least expect it and betrayal too can be found where we least expect it. For Daudani this was his 21st annual production. Now a San Diego tradition, the Indian-American community has shown increasing support for his efforts over the years volunteering, acting and viewing his productions. For the cast and crew of some 30 busy individuals the play was indeed a labor of love, giving their time and skills for 13 weeks in several weekend hours in rehearsal. This year’s play has brought together actors, dancers, stage crew and technical specialists from many walks of life, ranging from software engineering, nursing, immunology, dance, and even a sculpture artist. Mansi Acharya, assistant director, lent support to Daudani and brought her stage experience to bear in tapping the best from the amateur actors. The live music score was performed by Suresh Sistla enhancing the dramatic experience. 38 members of Solskrit, the Bay area’s largest Bollywood musical company, travelled to San Diego for the production giving a dazzling performance, skillfully combining live theater with digital effects and 3D interactive backdrops. Aditya Patel, a television star himself and the founder and artistic director of Solskrit said he was delighted to be part of the production.
