Ankit was able to generate superhuman levels of energy and poured every bit of himself into the show.Playback singer and composer Ankit rose to prominence with the release of his song ‘Sunn Raha Hai’ from ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013 and this song along with its album won the Best Music Director Award for the album. His track ‘Galliyan’ had won him Best Male Playback Singer Award in 2014.
Another versatile singer Shilpa Rao, one of the most prominent singers in the ‘wave of young singers’ kept the audience bound spell with her music. She started with ‘Yaariyaan’ from Cocktail ‘followed by ‘Tosey Naina Lagey’ for the movie Anwar’. While singing ‘Sazde Me Yunhi Jhukta Hun’ she asked the audience to switch on the lights of their mobile phones and wave them as she sangs. This created heavenly atmosphere in the theater as if small stars were twinkling in the sky. She made a real personal connection with the audience during the show. Her next song was ‘Ishq Shava’ from Yash Chopra’s film Jab Tak Hai Jaan. This was followed by ‘Khuda Jaane’, ‘Meherban Hua’ and ‘Malan Malang’.The kind of energy that she was able to generate on the stage in getting the audience fired up was amazing.
Then it was Akriti Kakar who came up on stage and right from the first song ‘Mar Jaani Mar Jaani’, she was in control of the stage and emotions of the audience. This was followed by ‘Iski Uski’, ‘Tu Gaddi Big Ban Di’, ‘Saturday, Saturday’ and ‘Lag Ja Galle’. She was also joined by her twin sisters Sukriti and Prakriti and the trio presented a bouquet of popular numbers consisting of ‘Kinna Sohna Tainu’, ‘Jugni, Ne Main Kamli’ and ‘Damaa Dum Mast Kalander’. Akriti did let her set list rest on nostalgia, but her new work was every bit as strong as the classics.
One of the promoters of the show Manoj Kay Tee while talking to IJ said the turn out was way more then expected and had crossed over 2200,and thanked all music lovers of L.A. for making it a grand success.
