NEW DELHI - After a long time, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Dec 7 held a public darbar at his residence, meeting people from various sections of the society and listening to their grievances and complaints. Manmohan Singh met 31 groups representing minorities, NGOs, artists, sportspersons and others for about an hour, PMO sources said.
He received petitions from these groups who came from various states and listened to their grievances and complaints, the sources said. The groups whose representatives met Manmohan Singh, included Sarv Samaj Shiksha Welfare Society Meerut, All Assam Minorities Students Union, Ram Krishna Ashram (Rampur Kalahandi), National Thinkers Forum (Jalandhar), Haryana Pradesh Brahman Samiti, Roller Skating Association of Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee.
