Siddharth Gandhi, owner of Tandoori Express Indian Bistro, came up with this creative and contemporary idea to continue to feed his customers in Orange County. This new location officially opened for business on Sept. 12, after a successful grand opening of about a hundred family members and close friends in attendance.
Gandhi’s first restaurant, Tandoori Garden is the typical sit down Indian restaurant which is in the city of Anaheim and Tandoori Express, his second eatery, is located in the city of Fullerton, the site for which was selected based on the area.
“There are a variety of businesses and residences near this location which makes it a great place,” said Gandhi adding that the idea for this type of restaurant has been in the works for some time now with a healthier vision in mind.
“I have been thinking about this kind of restaurant for about three years,” said Gandhi.
Maintaining the idea of healthiness, Tandoori Express Indian Bistro serves brown rice and quinoa in addition to white rice.he popular dishes available at Tandoori Express are the California naan and the combination options. The innovative and different items on the menu are the Chicken Makhni Joe, Fish Tacos, and Curried Falafel Wrap.
The California Naan is a butter naan with a twist of cheese, chili, garlic, and jalapenos and the Chicken Makhni Joe is an Indian version of the Sloppy Joe. One of the unique characteristics of this eatery is that the options available to foodies varies throughout the day. By doing this, Gandhi is able to maintain freshness in the food choices he serves.
Another distinctive feature is a wall dedicated to Bollywood. Most Indian restaurants have music playing in some form. However, Gandhi not only has a television which plays Bollywood songs; he also has a few canvases with Bollywood posters.
Gandhi with the support of his father, Shammi Gandhi, worked together to make their dream come true. Both father and son share a similar passion for the food industry and together they plan to open more locations of Tandoori Express Indian Bistro in the coming years.
