MUMBAI — Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has been invited to become the Grand Marshall and guest of honor at the prestigious New York India Day Parade this year. The non-resident Indians Aug. 16 will gather in New York from all across North America to celebrate the independence of India. The “Kill Dil” star will be sharing this dais with super achievers from the NRI community, and will be interacting with them.
Chopra, 26, will also be ringing the opening trade bell at Nasdaq, apart from other key event appearances. “I believe India’s story should be celebrated everywhere, and the journey of NRI citizenry is nothing short of incredible. The most successful community of expatriates anywhere, I treasure this opportunity to celebrate our independence in such a festive manner in New York,” she said in a statement. The actress left for New York earlier this week.
