It was a moment of glory for fans of Shah Rukh Khan, as the Bollywood star’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lifted the cup to win the Indian Premier League final in a nail-biting finish against Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab. SRK’s 7.84 million Twitter followers came down on social media with memes and jokes after the win. One tweet said, “Good to see finally Shah Rukh survived after he lost his life in ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’
against Preity Zinta.” While another film buff and SRK supporter tweeted tongue in cheek, “And finally, Kolkata Knight Riders took revenge from Preity Zinta for marrying Saif Ali Khan in ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’.” Meanwhile, Khan fans also gushed with praise for the superstar when he donned the Kings XI Punjab jersey as tribute to the losing side. “King Khan shows his love and respect for Preity Zinta by wearing the KXIP jersey. Take a bow. What a star!” gushed one fan. Another said, “Touched by Shah Rukh gesture wearing KXIP jersey. That’s sportsmanship and true companionship.
