Gujarati music mixed in with some of the latest Bollywood tunes, performed by Mansukhbhai Ghelani and party. Nilesh Shah, one of the organizer speaking with IJ said Sargam Group’s raas-garba was unique as the group focused on ensuring that each event was low cost and child -friendly. A few years ago, the organizers realized that all the raas-garba events in the vicinity of Orange County were either too crowded for kids or too expensive for an entire family to come and enjoy. To provide the best for those who attend, Sargam decided to reserve the first hour for a special kids round, where the floor is reserved for children alone. At the end of the dance, every child receives a gift of appreciation. This year, they added on a couple of contests like ‘Best Dressed’ and ‘Best Dancers.’ The winners were given prizes.
