Anaheim, CA All World Gayatri Pariwar recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Gayatri Consciousness Center. The event was held from July 25- 27 and concluded with a press conference that shed light on the importance of value based education and some key areas the Pariwar has been involved in.
Anaheim, CA All World Gayatri Pariwar recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Gayatri Consciousness Center. Dr. Chinmay Pandya, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dev Sanskriti University, Haridwar, India was present at the anniversary celebrations. While addressing members of the media and key members of the community on July 27, the final day of the event, Dr. Pandya talked about involving and giving direction to the youth of today. He went on to say that all the next generation wants is clarity and being involved in cultural activities can help. He added that the youth of today had a spirit of curiosity and were seeking knowledge. A Gayatri Mahayagya on 108 kund followed by mahaprasad and lunch wrapped up the three-day event which was attended by Anaheim Mayor, Tom Tait and his wife. The celebration started on July 25 with dinner at the Brookhurst Community Center in Anaheim with over 400 people in attendance. The US National anthem was performed by Krishna Parekh and the Indian national anthem was sung by Anish Sharma. Arti Bhatt was the emcee for the evening. The Keynote session with Dr. Pandya on “Human Excellence” focused on youth. The other speakers were Swami Ishwaranand of Chinmaya Mission who spoke on the topic “Youth Alone Can” and Yogini Kali of Tri Yoga who spoke on the therapeutic applications of Yoga, the health foundation for body, mind & spirit. She talked about the importance of inculcating yoga as a part of one’s lifestyle which can help one’s mental and physical health. The entire event was youth centric and was focused on how traditional values along with the modern curriculum are essential for the youth of today
The second day of the event was a cultural evening at the Gayatri Consciousness center. It included dance performances on folk and spiritual music and volunteers from all age groups participated to make the evening colorful.
