Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee for South Asia. In her address, she underscored the importance of being guided by sincerity and service and also for the communities to ‘stay involved’ and make their voice heard by their representatives. She mentioned that the threshold number for any US Congress representative to get tuned and be listening to the issues for his or her constituency is only 100. So, “if you desire a change, it is your duty to make yourself heard”. Tulsi passionately dwelled on her political career as to how she became the youngest person ever to get elected at the age of 21 and how she is digesting the landslide victory she experienced just two weeks ago. As a key, she offered, “if you see the work in you and don’t see yourself in the work, 50% of the battle is won, and the other 50% is your sincerity”.
The event was organized by Anshu Vasishta and representatives of Ekata Center, Chinmaya Mission, and also attended by Directors of Swami Narayan Temple in Chino Hills and as well as Balaji Temple in Malibu. Kedar Tilak introduced Gabbard and Daphna Patel, both representing the younger generation, presented a shawl to Gabbard symbolizing love and respect. Ravi Tilak in his concluding remarks said, while quoting a sher by Galib, “Who says you can’t puncture a hole in the sky— all you have to do is lift a stone and throw it with your 100%”. He drew a parallel with the works of Lokmanya Tilak and Gabbard, who both had their hearts in the Geeta and activism of a karma yogi, and maintained true dedication to move agendas they believed in. The event started and concluded with Bharat Natyam dances performed by the students of Ramya Harishankar.
