NORWALK, CA - GOPIO and its local chapters GOPIO-LA and GOPIO-OC jointly organized a second visa camp in coordination with the Indian Consulate in San Francisco and Cox & Kings, the visa agency at the Sanatan Dharma Cultural Center here, on Apr. 25. NORWALK, CA - GOPIO and its local chapters GOPIO-LA and GOPIO-OC jointly organized a second visa camp in coordination with the Indian Consulate in San Francisco and Cox & Kings, the visa agency at the Sanatan Dharma Cultural Center here, on Apr. 25. The services provided included those relating to visa,
OCI and renunciation certificates. The applications were accepted on appointment basis between 9 AM to 2 PM. Cox and Kings, the agency contracted by the Indian Consulate sent its crew of six persons under the leadership of Unit Manager Keshin Patel to handle the influx of applicants. They made provision to accept up to 400 applications. This time approximately 330 applicants took advantage and submitted their requests.
Volunteers from the local chapters of GOPIO helped with preliminary screening of applications. 227 applications were accepted and sent to Consulate office in San Francisco for final processing. Vice Consul (Visa) B.A. Sam Paul was present to assist and answer any questions.
GOPIO-LA and GOPIO-OC jointly provided copy/print, notary, and Wi-Fi services. Sanatan Dharma temple provided tea and refreshments and Paul Naik provided snacks to volunteers.
