Performing Arts Center here on Oct 6.This followed a concert in San Diego the previous day.
Hollywood based Company Five Dimensions Entertainment hosted the event. `Sachinda’s’ evergreen melodies were presented by “Niche Entertainment” a young and energetic group from Pune, Maharashtra to eager audiences in San Diego and Los Angeles. The show they put up proved that popularity does not mean that every well-known famous artist is better. Young talented artists can do just as much as celebrity artists, they just need the right platform.
The group presented the musical journey of a composer who can truly be called an architect of the golden era of Hindi film music. The music took listeners back to old times and brought out nostalgic memories, so much so that at the end of the program half of the audience reached directly to the stage to meet and greet these young artists.
The magic of Burman’s music filled the air. His name is written down in history as an `out of the box’ music director. Perhaps that is why `Aradhana’ and `Jewel Thief’ songs were in demand and got a standing ovation. Singers in the group Jitendra Abhyankar, Dhaval Chandawadkar, Rasika Ganoo and Swarada Godbole were greatly appreciated for their melodious voices while instrumentalists Kedar Paranjape, Darshana Jog, Vikrant Bhat, Ajay Atre, Vishal Thelkar and Nielesh Deshpande for their accurate notations. Show director Milind Oak was applauded for putting the concert together and he full heartedly gave a pat on the back to a man who built this concept Mandar Kulkarni. Narrator Sunil Deodhar also received special appreciation from the audience.
